Percentage of rust vs truck lower than I'd hoped.

Spent some time this evening getting a fender off the '64 pickup. It took the better part of an hour and involved cutting off 3 bolts and snapping the head on another.

As I had expected, it is pretty rusty under here. The fender, front panel, & radiator support are all so rotted as to be not really structurally sound anymore.

It is going to be quite a project. Also found a few more spots of rot in the cab, but nothing big and no unpleasant surprises.

Tomorrow I'll be pulling the other fender & getting the grille, front panel & radiator support apart & off. If anyone local to RI wants to join me, let me know.

That sucks. Another reason why I got fed up with Northern cars. Last one I bought is from the South with no rust at all.

Meh, I bought it knowing it needed rust repair so I could preactice my fabrication skills.

I actually just sold a more rust-free truck to have the money to fix this one up as I liked the longbed better.
